授業概要 Course Description |
This course aims to introduce students to global communication and its core mechanisms. In particular, students will be able to enhance their skills and expand their knowledge related to global issues in the world. Students will leave the course with a deeper understanding of global issues as well as enhance their vocabulary repertoire. In addition, topics pertaining to Japan's local issues and/or problems will be studied in detail in order to raise students' awareness as well as further develop their skills in expressing their views/opinions with more confidence.

Students will be able to exercise autonomous learning skills through various research projects individually and in groups. Whilst the classes are highly interactive, the instructor will introduce class formats and routines which would benefit all students regardless of one’s English proficiency level. In-class sessions will cover numerous case studies and role plays that would surely kindle students’ minds and curiosity. Attending each class will buttress your communicative competence, enhance your knowledge of global communication styles, and help you to identify and clarify your own communication preference and style. You will be able to further your own authorial voice in presenting your research and work to your peers.
