授業概要   Course Description Participating in the globalised workforce requires reading English texts - the preferred international language of communication. To successfully participate in this world, reading comprehension, and the ability to extract, interpret and use information from texts are essential. A variety of readings focused on contemporary issues will have students develop specific reading skills to assist their abilities to read for reading comprehension. By understanding reading as a complex cognitive activity, students will gain an appreciation of their personal reading strengths and weaknesses thereby providing the opportunity to improve their reading skills.
到達目標   Class Goals Class goals include having motivated students read with purpose and understand the cognitive processes reading involves to improve student reading comprehension skills. This language focus will help build student vocabulary, reading fluency and understanding of how writers’ micro choices build readers’ comprehension.
