This course is will let students understand characteristics of and issues on the Japanese economy from theoretical, chronological, and political economy perspectives. Using a standard text book written by internationally-acknowledged authors, this course will provide knowledge deep and wide enough in understanding the Japanese economy.

Students are expected to have completed introductory macroeconomics course(s). They are also advised to have access to statistical databases, and to be alert on news on Japan and the Japanese economy.
