| 授業概要 Course Description |
In this course, students will level up their reading skills through a variety of ways. Current topics of the day, relevant to students’ lives, will be studied in class, with reading activities and group discussions to follow. In addition to material distributed in class, graded readers will be employed by students to be read outside of class. Book reports will be required, both written and in group discussion formats.

Students must be able to understand the gist, development, and important details of basic texts, essays, news articles, etc. Critical thinking skills such as making inferences, expressing opinions, and summarizing a paragraph will be practiced in class.

This class is designed for students to level up their reading skills. After reading the day's content, the class will engage in group and pair work which will improve their critical thinking skills.

All reading content will be supplied by the instructor in the form of handouts. Material will be utilized from current business articles from newspapers, magazines, and online content.

Students are highly recommended to bring to class a bilingual dictionary and a thesaurus.
