| 授業概要 Course Description |
This class will address legal issues of environmental problems, which include climate change, air/water pollution, hazardous waste, and preservation of natures in the United States. Firstly, we discuss some basic ideas or concepts of environmental studies like ecology, scientific uncertainty, commons, and environmental justice. Thereafter, we overview the legal and political system in the U.S. to protect environment and combat legal cases in some areas of environmental law through students' presentation and discussion.

Participation in class is mandatory. Students are required to prepare for each class and submit comment paper on the issues dealt in class or brief reports on the cases after each class on the e-learning of the course. And students are highly recommended to make presentations of cases in class.
