授業概要 Course Description |
In this course, students will learn the basics of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in English. As students study the SDGs content, they will simultaneously develop their English through listening, reading, writing and speaking activities. Each student will also have the opportunity to choose, research and develop a mini-presentation to share basic information with other students and to practice presenting in English. For the final course project, students will work in groups to develop an advocacy message that invites others to take action for the Sustainable Development Goals. Students will consolidate their weekly learning in a Reflective Journal.

Students will be able to: -Build and use English vocabulary and phrases necessary for studying and discussing the SDGs. -Provide simple English definitions for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. -Learn to develop and deliver effective presentations in English. -Work collaboratively with other students through class discussions and group projects. - Improve accuracy and fluency in writing English reflective journals.

Students are expected to develop ideas, support each other's learning, and be responsible for their roles in discussions and projects. Students must be prepared BEFORE coming to class.
All class materials, homework assignments, and course activities will be managed through manaba. Students are required to set their manaba reminder function.
Students must be able to use MS Word to write their weekly reflective journals and PowerPoint slides for both live and recorded presentations.
Students will be notified should class contents and learning environment change due to unexpected circumstances.
