授業概要   Course Description This is course is a survey of post-Meiji ere (modern) Japanese poetry. Students will read classical Japanese poetry in English. Students will discuss the historic, aesthetic, religious and socio-political context of different literary periods to gain a better understanding Japanese literature.

This class will be taught face-to-face unless two-way live delivery remote class using tools such as Teams and Zoom via Manaba is requested by Meiji Gakuin University according to the Covid-19 risk assessment.
到達目標   Class Goals The goal of this class is to experience an academic subject in English. Through English texts, students will improve their critical reading, writing, note-taking, and discussion skills while broadening their knowledge of Japanese poetic history and poetry.
