Current Topics for Academic English Reading Comprehension has been specifically designed to help EFL learners develop their reading comprehension skills. Each unit is based on a topic of current interest to students. Furthermore, each unit contains sections such as: Warm-up Questions, Reading & True / False statements, Comprehension Questions, Vocabulary Gap Fill, Complete the Sentence: Multiple Choice, Listening & Reading Comprehension: Multiple Choice questions, Vocabulary Challenge, and finally a Let’s Summarize section, which includes space for your summary of the article, and your opinion of the article as well.

Evaluation Criteria |
Each lesson is worth 5 participation points total (75%). During class, points will be added for 1) asking questions in English, 2) class participation during pair-work and group activities. Points will be deducted for 1) speaking in Japanese; 2) looking at your cell phone; 3)being late. Finally, you need to get at least half of the answers correct on the final exam (25%．
