| 授業概要 Course Description |
Reading is an excellent way for you to be exposed to and improve your English along with gaining knowledge about a certain subject. Therefore, this course is designed to immerse you in reading different genrre, inlcuding poetry, short stories, to get you accustomed to the act as well as make your English better. Learning in this class, you will experience a variety of work including timed readings, extensive reading and textbook exercises that focus on vocabulary learning, improving fluency and building reading skills. Moreover, during the class, there will be opportunities to participate in discussions about what you have read, and finally a presentation will wrap up the term. This is a face-to-face class using Manaba.

You will expand your vocabulary through immersion in reading. You will improve your fluency through extensive reading. You will develop better understanding with mastering reading skills such as recognizing words in context, distinguishing fact from opinion, keeping events in order, making correct inferences and understanding the main idea. You will brush up conversational ability with discussion of materials read. You will demonstrate your ability to prepare for and give an effective presentation. You will demsostrate your knowledge of textbook content through a written exam. You will develop your understanding of poetry via reading, analysis and discussions.
