授業概要 Course Description |
This course will guide students through steps in the reading process, paying attention to close comprehension skills, but also considering general areas such as topic, genre, purpose, and audience. In class, a selection of short authentic English prose texts will be closely studied, and themes used to promote discussion of related personal ideas or experiences. In this class we will read in different ways that will build up your reading skills broadly and deeply. We will closely read and study textbook examples of authentic university-level English writings, responding and reacting by forming and framing original insight via textbook questions and activities connected to each piece of writing. Reading outside class (timed and/or extensive) will be required and will be monitored.
