| 授業概要 Course Description |
この授業では、英語圏の現代詩を、心理学や精神分析の視点から学びます。心理・精神分析概念を顧みながら詩を読み解くことで、人間の心の働きを、人文学手法を用いて解析します。それにより、自己理解、他者理解、メタ認識、共感能力、及び、それらの能力について批評的に考える思考を身につけることが、この授業の目標です。

| 到達目標 Class Goals |
(1) To read poetry as an extension of the human psyche, and to use psychological concepts as tools to interpret the workings of our mind（心理や精神分析概念を用いて詩を読むことで、人の心の動き方を探求する志向性を身につける）
(2) To become familiar with the imaginative reading practice that is essential to the above objective（上記１の目標達成のために重要な、想像力を用いた読解の技能を習得する）
(3) To apply interpretive skills that you will develop through reading poetry to other interpretive acts, such as self-interpretation and self-understanding（詩の解析に必要なスキルを、自己や他者の理解・解析に応用する）
(4) To formulate and express ideas in written and spoken English（英語で、自分の考えを構築し表現する）
(5) To develop a long-lasting appreciation of the art of poetry（詩という芸術を鑑賞する能力を修得する）

This course is intended to be reading-intensive, and will be conducted in a discussion-based seminar format. In-class activities such as journal writing and group discussions will be important, as those will help us apply literary concepts to our understanding of the world beyond the texts.
