授業概要   Course Description During this semester, we will be building upon your skills to further improve your ability to write in English. We will continue to base our classes on the textbook - Longman Academic Writing Series 4: Essays - but, as always, the most important resource is you - your ideas, your experiences and your efforts to communicate.
到達目標   Class Goals This semester will reinforce the skills covered last semester. It will also include an introduction to literary analysis by reading two short stories; you will have the opportunity to write your own short story, too.

【第1回】 授業内容
Content/Topic
For the first four classes, we will be exploring the genre of argumentative essays. In this first session, we will read "What is an argumentative essay?" (p153) and "The elements of an argumentative essay" (p156). Following this we will read the essay “Replaced by a Robot” on pages 153 and 154, then answer the five questions at the bottom of page 154.
