Students will improve their English communication skills through thematic discussions of various topics and class readings. Students will develop critical-thinking skills, to explain and discuss complex topic. Students will work in small groups and pairs to practice discussions, make presentations and develop listening skills.

Students will be required to read and discuss issues related to Japan and the rest of the world. Listening activities will be assigned as homework as well as during the class.
