| 授業概要 Course Description |
This class is designed to help students who want to become teachers or researchers of English as a second language. The main focus will be on introducing and practicing specific teaching methods for CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) related to reading skills development. A secondary focus will be on the use of technology such as PCs, cell phones and iPods to promote reading and vocabulary development.

As English skills are also a very important part of being an English teacher, students will be expected to read and listen to English widely outside of class and should do so every day. Please come to class each time and be prepared.

What Should Every EFL Teacher Know? 2nd Edition (by Paul Nation, 2024, Compass Publishing). You will also need to buy a DVD (or digital copy) of the teaching movie we will watch this semester, called "Freedom Writers". You can purchase both of these easily and cheaply from Amazon.com
