Ever wondered how societies function? Why gender roles exist across cultures? Or how religion, family, and race are perceived differently in various societies? This course explores these questions by delving into foundational concepts, theories, and methodologies of social anthropology. As a discipline, social anthropology aims to holistically study human existence. Covering a broad spectrum, this field equips students to analyze social problems, ponder social questions, and understand the complexities of human existence in our intricate, globalized, and evolving world. Through global case studies and ethnographic examples, we will critically analyze how cultures shape and influence human behavior and societal structures.
