This course aims to prepare you to complete your graduation projects. You will be helped to finalize your topics and methodology. You will learn how to make proper use of academic publications and other relevant resources, then begin writing up your project.
|

1) Determine the topic of your graduation project.
2) Read academic articles and books that are relevant for your topic.
3) Start conducting your own research, whether by questionnaire survey, fieldwork, personal observation, or the analysis of primary source documents."
4) Work out the overall structure of the project and begin writing up sections.
5) Submit a chapter or more of your project (3000 words) by the end of the spring semester.

Remarks for Class |
Students are required to have read all assigned texts and be prepared to make input in class discussion when coming to each class meeting. The class is conducted based on students’ knowledge and understanding of assigned subjects acquired from their pre-class reading of textbooks. The instructor introduces topics and issues and asks questions, students answer them, and the entire class discusses and examines the subjects.
All of us participating in this course will work together to help each other learn and think, so that everybody will get most out of this course. Class discussion is a means to achieve this collective goal.

Term paper: the first part of your project (50%), submission of other drafts (30%), class presentations (20%)
Each time a student misses a class, 10% will be subtracted from total 100%.
