| 授業概要 Course Description |
This course is designed for beginner students who have learned hiragana, katakana and the basic Japanese grammar.
The purpose is to acquire upper basic level grammar, vocabulary and kanji so that students will be able to express themselves in both spoken and written forms at level necessary to communicate effectively in ordinary life.
Students will receive integrated training in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

| 到達目標 Class Goals |
The goal of this course is to acquire four basic skills ; speaking ,listening, reading and writing , of Japanese at an elementary level with an emphasis on grammatical accuracy and socially appropriate language use.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
(1) Develop and gain better skills in order to respond and speak on familiar topics.
(2)Make simple descriptions and explanations on topics of personal interests.
(3)Have practiced how to express own experience in a meaningful way.

*The schedule and class content may be adjusted depending on the circumstances.
*Information on quizzes and assignments will be informed through "manaba". Students need to check "manaba" regularly.
* Students are required to attend the class regularly and participate actively in all class activities.
* All the assignments should be handed in by the due date and time through "manaba". If you hand in an assignment late, the maximum possible score for the assignment will be 80%.
* No credit will be given to those who miss more than 1/3 of all the classes.
*If any student has come late or left early three times, they will be marked one absence.
* In principle, there will be no makeup quiz or test.
* Food and cell phone use are not permitted in class.
*All prospective students must attend the first class.
