授業に関する注意事項 Remarks for Class |
1. Be sure to attend the first session, which is orientation. 2. Students must bring their own computer. Materials will be distributed, and assignments will be submitted via "Microsoft Teams". Students need to check "Microsoft Teams" regularly. 3. All the assignments should be handed in by the due date and time through "Microsoft Teams". If you hand in an assignment late, the maximum possible score for the assignment will be 80%. 4. In case of anticipated absence, tardiness, or leaving early, the student should contact the instructor in charge as far in advance as possible and inform him/her of the situation. If prior notification is not possible, contact the instructor, to explain, as soon as possible after the session. Also, when notifying the instructor in charge of an absence, make sure to confirm the class content and assignments that will be missed. 5. In principle, no course credit will be given to a student with absences exceeding 1/3 of the total number of class sessions with the exception of situations that qualify as official "excused absences". ◆ Number of absences for which no credit will be given : 6 or more ◆ Circumstances constituting acceptable "excused absences": - In case of "schoolwide infectious disease outbreaks", a student must submit a copy of the "Absence Slip" issued by the Academic Affairs Division to the instructor in charge. - A student completes the procedures for issuing a "Request for Consideration" through the Student Support Center. - Other situations may be approved by the individual faculty member in charge on a case-by-case basis. 6. Arriving late (31 minutes or more) or leaving significantly early will count toward an absence. Being tardy or leaving early three times will constitute one absence. 7. Working on a side job or leaving one’s seat for an extended period of time during class may be treated as tardiness or absence. 8. Submission of tardy certificates may not necessarily be taken into consideration. Train delays and bus congestion are frequent issues, a student needs to anticipate this and plan to arrive early. 9. The schedule and course content may change according to circumstances.
