授業概要   Course Description Students will learn how to prepare for interpreting assignments and how to practice different skills while enhancing their knowledge on English and Japanese languages including formal expressions.

The course will mainly consist of:
1. lectures on the concept and technique of interpreting,
2. exercises for the development of different skills
3. interpreting exercises using practical settings and relevant topics for international studies students,
4. in-class group discussion,
5. "Student Pitching Sessions"--short presentations and interpretation by students (from Week 9 to Week 12)
6. In-class translation,
7. homework assignments including translation.
*Translation assignments will be returned with comments or discussed during the class.

*This course is capped at 20 students. If there are more applicants, the above in-class translation will serve as a student selection test. The result of the selection will be notified to each student by noon, April 10th (Mon.).

備考   Notes The course caps at 20 students to secure interactivity in the lessons. In case of oversubscription, selection will be made based on the result of in-class translation in the first class on April 7th (Fri.) All students who want to take this course are required to attend the first class.
