授業概要   Course Description American celebrates diversity and benefits to society. At the same time they acknowledge that differences based on race and ethnicity have divided the nation and undermined key democratic ideals. Racial tensions have exploded again and again. We discuss the challenges of integrating and governing a modern, plural society.
到達目標   Class Goals This corse's specific aims are to teach students how to interpret historical and cultural materials. by the end of the class, students should be able to articulate their own point of view and the politics of racial and ethnic diversity in the United States and Canada.

Attendance is essential for students' success. Therefore, any student who is absent a fourth time will receive an F for this class.

Come to class on time, and once class begins, do not leave. If you arrive late or must leave early, please do so without disruption to other members of the class.

Turn off any beepers and cell phones. Students whose phones ring during lecture will be asked to leave.

Do not engage in “Inappropriate” use of electronic devices during class. Inappropriate use includes texting your friends, reading texts, surfing the net, checking in with Facebook or other social media, shopping online, paying your bills among others. If you engage in the “inappropriate” use of electronics, your right to use these devices in the future will be removed.
